Office Hours
Our clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
After Office Hours or Weekend Care
There is no provider after hours or on weekends. If you need to be seen at a later time, you may call 554-2374 and leave a message.
You will receive a call back to schedule a visit with the first available provider. If you have an emergency, go to the nearest urgent
care facility for treatment.
Appointment Services
To reduce waiting time for non-urgent problems, students should call for an appointment.
If students are unable to keep their appointment, a phone call should be made and their appointment should be cancelled. The space could be given to
another student, as spaces are limited.
It is helpful to remember that UNO Student Health Services has only one physician at any given time. This means the scheduled time may be backed up for an emergency.
During the times a physician or nurse practicioner is not available, a nurse will evaluate the student. A nurse will either provide the care or arrangements will be made
for the student to see a physician or nurse practitioner at a time determined by the urgency of both the student's condition and the condition of other patients requiring treatment.
Referrals
Just like a family physician, at times it is necessary to refer students to an outside specialist. The health fee does not cover outside specialists. Any cost incurred from the referrals is the student's responsibility.
Medical Excuses
Student Health Services DOES NOT issue routine medical excuses. Verification may be provided that a student was seen in Health Services; however, this is not
proof that the student was too ill to participate in classroom activities.
Health Fees
Student Health Services is available to all currently enrolled students regardless of insurance coverage. Costs are included in the comprehensive University Program and Facilities Fee (UPFF).
Students may see the Student Health Services providers for free. They can receive any in-stock over-the-counter medication at no cost.
Students will be billed for x-rays, outside reference laboratory tests, prescription medications, required and requested immunizations and vaccines, and any services delivered off of the UNO campus.
Many Omaha-area pharmacies give a discount to students with a valid UNO student ID card.
Over-the-Counter Medication
A variety of medications are available free of charge to students. They are for treating common problems such as headaches, cold & flu, or diarrhea.
